CT Sports ClubCricket Academy

Cricket coaching for kids, starting this December in Connecticut.

Small groups for ages 6 to 17 at Reputation Athletics Field House, after school and on weekend mornings. Every child starts with a free 15 to 25 minute evaluation with one of our coaches.

Evaluation days: Saturday, November 14 · Sunday, November 15 · Monday, November 16

How joining works

  1. Any timeBook an evaluation online. About three minutes, nothing to pay, and you pick from the next open times. Book brothers and sisters into the same time.
  2. Nov 14, 15 and 16Evaluations at the Field House. 15 to 25 minutes of batting, bowling and fielding while a coach watches. Then the coach sits down with you, explains where your child is today, and you choose a class time together.
  3. Same dayWe email you the enrollment details for the class you agreed: the coach's notes, start date and what's included. Enroll on your phone before you leave, or within three days.
  4. Wed Dec 2First session. Your child meets their coach and batch, gets a first skills check, and goes home with their own learning-path card. Parents join the class WhatsApp group.

What your child gets

The things parents ask us about first, and how we handle each of them.

A batch of 10 to 13 players

Small enough that every child bats, bowls and fields in every class, grouped with players at the same stage. Nobody stands in a queue holding a bat.

An empty netted practice lane with stumps and a bat

Coaches who know them

A coach and an assistant coach in every class, both background-checked, who get to know each child and how they learn.

Safety you can see

Helmets for every hard-ball drill, and any knock to the head means they sit out and we call you.

Progress in writing

Skill badges as they earn them, a term report from the coach, and a short "first week and now" video.

Times that fit school

After-school evenings and weekend mornings, so it sits next to homework and tuition rather than against it.

You're part of the journey

We want you to see your child's cricket grow, not guess at it. So we keep you in the loop all the way through:

  • Every month a short update from the coach on what your child has been working on and what comes next
  • As skills are earned a badge, so you can celebrate it at home
  • Every term a written report like this one, and a short video of the first week next to now

Every skill, on the field and beyond it, is rated on four levels, and it only counts as done once the coach has seen it in three different sessions, so a good day never gets mistaken for a habit.

Coach's note: Much more confident against the faster ball since the start of term. Next term we work on his throwing, which is still side-arm, and keeping his head still in the run-up.

The path, stage by stage

Your child starts wherever their cricket is today, not where their age says. A 10-year-old who has never held a bat starts at Rising; a 9-year-old who already plays may start higher. Each stage is earned, and each skill only counts once the coach has seen it in three sessions.

Every skill at every stage

Inside a class

Every class, on every day, follows a planned session from our curriculum: fifteen minutes of movement games, two skill blocks of about twenty-five minutes in small groups, then a game where everyone bats, bowls and fields. The last five minutes are for badges.

Batches are 10 to 13 players, grouped by stage, with a coach and an assistant coach. Helmets go on for every hard-ball drill. What you can expect from us

Never played before?

That's fine, and plenty of our first players won't have. Cricket is a bat-and-ball team game: one side bats while the other bowls and fields. Beginners start with a soft ball, so no pads or helmet are needed, and we provide bats and balls.

Girls and boys train together in every batch.

Founding families. The first 40 families to enroll get 15% off the $100 registration (shirt and welcome pack included), and keep the $35 class rate until July 2028.

Classes are $35 each, billed monthly by class date. Brothers and sisters get 50% off registration. Full schedule and fees
